If you are part of an environmental organization, it is often wise to make sure that you part of a good one. You can always check the growth that the organization has achieved through the years. If you are not quite familiar with what sort of milestones you should look for, you may want to tune in to today’s discussion.
Here are CETB, we’ve had the privilege to check on a wide variety non-profit organization and determine their health as an organization. This means that we know of a few milestones that you can check. Milestones like:
Donation Spike
Non-profit organizations survive on donations and funding. Any non-profit must be clear about the amount that they have been receiving through donations. Check the recent circular or pamphlet that’s been distributed. You can even check your organization’s website.
If they have been enjoying a spike in the number of donations, you can expect that your org is growing quite steadily.
Visibility
Of course, it’s not just the money that’s reflected in writing that counts. If there is more funding to go around, the visibility of that fact must be unmistakable as well. Much like a gambler can’t really say they won until they cash in their chips; an organization must be able to really apply their funding towards more activities or campaigns for your cause.
Any organization that says it’s been receiving money but doesn’t look like it is highly suspicious. You must not be afraid to hold people accountable especially when something as important as the environment hangs in the balance.
The two things that we’ve mentioned are pretty solid markers of growth in an organization—especially an environmental organization. We hope that you’ll be able to make use of them to measure the growth of the organization that you are part of.
